What can I use my zipper bag for?
Zipper bags are a great way to store food but there are a myriad of other uses for this plastic storage bag. Here are a few that we’ve found at various sites on the web.
Store homemade soup – Fill up the zipper bags with the cold soup and then lay them flat in the freezer. When they are frozen you can stack up the bags and store the soup easily and in usable portions.
Protect fragile cargo – Nearly close your zipper bag. Insert a straw into the top and inflate. Remove the straw and seal quickly to make a cushion.
Handbag items storage – Store powder compact or other makeup items in a zipper bag to prevent damage to and leakage into your handbag.
Storing toiletries – If you are going away overnight, fill zipper bags with single portions of shampoo and conditioner. Protect earbuds and cottonwool from moisture, or store powder compacts in zipper bags to prevent spills in your handbag or luggage.
Gum off a carpet – How do you get chewing gum or wax from a carpet or tablecloth? Gently rub gum or wax with a zipper bag filled with ice cubes until the substance gets hard. Shatter the gum with a blunt object, and then vacuum up the pieces. Peel off hard wax with a plastic spatula.
Storing fresh herbs – Before winter sets in, pick, wash, pat dry, and freeze your herbs in zipper bags.
Zipper Bag as a Pencil Case – Keep all you pencils, crayons, erasers, sharpeners etc together in one spot.
Zipper Bags For Grated Cheese – Place the cheese grater in a zipper bag and keep it there as you grate your cheese. The bag catches everything and the kitchen counter stays clean. You can then zip up the bag and freeze the cheese.
